You ask what can be done to stop the faith that you hold to from fading further in the coming generations. I was discussing this same topic a few days ago, and while the answer that came to me may seem unconventional, it is at home with what i believe to be the tap root of Christianity, the teachings of Christ. I was struck by the unfortunate absurdity with which my answer is likely to fall on your ear, by your wording of "He Who is truly God"

For, I believe that to survive the long arch, Christianity must be reborn from it's root, a central part of which will be to except that divinity is equally masculine and feminine, that the whole of creation is divinely potent.

You mention the Da Vinci code, I did not reed the book or watch the movie, however, i am an avid reader of the gnostic gospels, it is within them that i have found Christianity to speak with spiritual clarity. These works where repressed centuries after jesus' death, and there is good reason to believe this was done because this spiritual core of Christianity was too personally empowering for the ruling class's comfort.

I suppose that I am a part of the problem as you see it. I follow an earth based tradition that is similar to taoism and naturalism. I am inspired by and respect much of what I have seen of gnostic Christianity, and will be tempted by it's revival, because it is so similar to what I have found to be true in this world. Paganism comes in a plethora of flavors, none of which i actually follow. However, I know that through its diversity and its naturalistic tendencies it has stood with strength, because it is more free and more true then the currently splintered message which Catholicism shackled Christianity with.

I'm not trying to be offensive, but I see you as contributing to the imbalance in the world, as a proponent of a spirituality that grants divinity to a single source, a single gender. I believe that any tradition that rejects half the world is doomed to corruption, abuse, and eventual disintegration when brought to the light of truth (gnosis).

You state that the Gnostic Gospels are "collections which were written during the first century following the time of the writing of the New Testament" The scholarly research being done on these writings show/suggest that much of them where composed centuries before the Bible of Rome was chosen.

Even if we could change some "values based" laws, ...

Even if we could change some "values based" laws, it doesn't change the heart. Only God can do that. Of course we as Christian need to be involved in the political process as is our right and responsibility as citizens. But too much reliance on that as a way to influence society can only be frought with frustration and disappointment. That whole "legislating morality" argument again. We may be able to do it, but to what end? Political winds shift and years of hard-fought victory is reversed and Christians freak out forgetting our real commission of reaching the world for Christ. A shift in collective world view away from that old pagan mind-set towards a relationship with Jesus and biblical wisdom would do a lot more towards setting things right than politically bullying people into a value system they can't even understand let alone adhere to.

P.S.
